This memorial day means that summer is officially here, so we thought it would be a good time to let you know about 3 ways the Awakened Raw Hemp Balm can help you be at your best this summer.
Let’s start with some basics about topicals and how hemp infused topicals work.
What are Topicals?
Topicals are products applied to the skin like lotions, balms, creams, oils and bath salts.
Topical Products Include:
- Body Oils
- Bath Bombs
- Bath Salts
- Transdermal Patches*
*Transdermal patches deliver active ingredients into the bloodstream and may have psychoactive effects
How Do Topicals Work?
The skin acts as a barrier to the outside world. Cannabis and hemp infused topicals work by driving the cannabinoids into the skin and engaging the CB2 receptors found inside the epidermis of our skin. The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) has a crucial role in central and peripheral processing, and in the control of such skin-derived sensory phenomena as pain and itch.
Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
The endocannabinoid system, or ECS for short, is the bodies natural network of cell signaling, kind of like an air traffic controller and is responsible for a wide range of bodily functions and processes, including:
- reproduction and fertility
CB1 receptors are found primarily in the central nervous system. They are often thought of as THC receptors as they are the primary receptor responsible for the euphoric effects associated with Delta-9-THC or just THC for short.
CB2 receptors are primarily found in the peripheral nervous system and mostly in immune tissues giving the possibility that the endocannabinoid system has an immunomodulatory role.
The Skin is Our Largest Organ
Our largest organ is in fact our skin, so it makes sense that our skin would have endocannabinoid receptors as part of the endocannabinoid system (ECS). One of the key benefits of topicals products is that they work locally and in the case of cannabis and hemp infused products, because topicals do not get into your bloodstream, all topical products, including ones with THC are considered non-psychoactive with the exception of transdermal patches.
3 Ways to use Awakened Raw Hemp Balm this Summer
1. Let’s Go Camping!
Summer is officially here and nothing says summer more than a good ol’ fashioned camping trip. But let’s be honest, the great outdoors also comes with poison oak & ivy, bugs & spiders, long hikes, no showers and sleeping on the hard ground. After a day or two of that you are going to be glad you brought your Awakened Raw Hemp Balm along.
Bug bites - The anti inflammatory properties in our Raw Hemp Balm will calm that mosquito bite right now and even spider bites and bee stings are no match for our healing balm.
Knee pain - We all love a beautiful hike to a magical waterfall, but after climbing 900 feet of mountain you are going to have some sore and tired joints. Luckily our Raw Hemp Balm is an effective remedy for localized relief. Rub a little on your tired feet and massage some balm into your knees and sit back and watch your pain melt away like the marshmallow you forgot about while making a s'more.
Back pain - Sleeping on a hard camping matt or air mattress can leave your lower and mid back feeling like you just got run over by a grizzly bear. For that we have the Awakened Raw Hemp Balm which has 10mg of raw CBDA per mL for a super potent and fast acting topical analgesic product that will put a little air back in your back.
2. Beach Time!
What’s better than a beautiful day at the beach? The surf, the sand . . . the sun burns? If you have ever gotten a little too overzealous at the beach, and trust me we’ve all been there, and thought you could lay out all day and splash around and only apply sunscreen once, well, how did that go? I’m guessing not so well. Fortunately our Raw Hemp Balm not only has the anti-inflammatory properties of whole plant raw hemp to help ease the pain, but it’s also loaded with aloe vera and other healing plants to soothe and heal your lobster red skin in no time.
Sun Burns - Our Raw Hemp Balm will help reduce the painful burn of too much sun exposure as well as help your skin naturally heal with the aid of whole leaf aloe vera and phytocannabinoid rich whole flower hemp.
Pre Sun - Our Raw Hemp Balm is not only good for sunburns, but also as a presun moisturizer to help keep your skin hydrated will soak up some rays.
After Sun - Even if you’re a tanning pro you should still apply an after sun product like our Raw Hemp Balm when you get back from the beach. The soothing whole plant oils and healing herbs will help restore moisture and keep your skin healthy and supple and not looking like a sun dried tomato.
3. Post Workout Recovery
Before you head to the beach you might be thinking about getting to the gym a couple times to sculpt that beach bod! No matter if you’ve been working out for years or you’re just getting started, muscle recovery is key to a successful workout routine.
Muscle Relief - The Awakened Raw Hemp Balm can help your muscles recover after a workout by penetrating the skin and reducing inflammation. This will not only help you recover faster, but you’ll feel better too!
Joint Pain - Whether you're a runner or a walker or a treadmill talker, your joints will be needing some attention after your workout. This is why the Awakened Raw Hemp Balm is so popular with athletics - - because IT WORKS! Put it on before and after workouts and give your joints a break.
Blemishes - Let’s face it, most of us workout to look good, right? Admit it. At Least a little, so when you're back from the gym and all showered up try the Awakened Raw Hemp Balm on those blemishes and let your natural beauty do the rest of the work. Because our formula is made from whole plants and cold pressed ingredients the cosmetic applications of our balm is something you may want to look into.
There’s no wrong way to treat your skin with the Awakened Raw Hemp Balm, made from 100% plant based ingredients and our solventless infusion process. This summer be sure and bring our Raw Hemp Balm along for your camping adventures, beach trips and to the gym.
