The Awakened Process

Step 1: Sustainable Farming

Our process starts at the seed. We’ve partnered with farms that adhere to regenerative, low-impact farming practices—that means cannabis that is grown in the Earth and under the sun, exactly as nature intended. Growing the plants full-term outdoors minimizes energy and water usage while enriching the surrounding land.

Step 2: 1st Lab Test

Before we even begin the manufacturing process, the raw plant material is lab tested for purity, potency, and pesticides. We ensure that all of our hemp is rich in terpenes and CBD, and is pesticide-free.

Step 3: Solventless Infusion

To extract CBD and other phytocannabinoids from the raw hemp material, we employ a technique that has been used in herbal medicine for thousands of years: lipid infusion. In this process, we soak our premium cannabis flower tops in extra virgin olive oil, drawing out the delicate raw CBD, terpenes, vitamins, and minerals. This gentle process allows us to avoid artificial high heat and toxic chemical solvents. 

In addition to being safer, lipid infusion has also been shown to yield oil that is richer in both cannabinoids and terpenes when compared to other solvents like naphtha (think Rick Simpson oil), ether, and ethanol.

Step 4: Cold Pressing

Using mechanical pressure—and a lot of elbow grease—we press the hemp mixture through a specialized filter to separate out the infused oil from the raw plant material. By keeping this part of the process low-temp, we are able to preserve the maximum amount of phytoactives in the finished infusion.

Step 5: 2nd Lab Test

Once the infused oil has been separated from the raw plant material, we test the product once again for purity and potency. Patient safety is our top priority, so we want to ensure that there are no microorganisms, heavy metals, or harmful chemicals present.

Step 6: Formulation

For our Sublinguals, we start by decanting the infused oils to reduce and remove any sedimentation. From there, we combine the infused oil with additional extra virgin olive oil to achieve the desired concentration.

For our Topicals, this potent whole flower hemp infusion is mixed with a carefully formulated combination of herbs, plant-based oils, and candelilla wax.

Step 7: 3rd Lab Test

As a final check to ensure product quality and consumer safety, the finished products are lab tested for a third time. Once given the all-clear, our inventory is released and can be shipped out nationwide.
